This past holiday weekend just exhausted me.
But not for all the fun reasons.
It was Fourth of July and I was getting ready to work.
At least whoever did my schedule was kind and gave me an earlier shift. If I was feeling up to it I would be able to go out and enjoy some fireworks and celebrate with the rest of the nation.
Here’s a tidbit of advice, because this is a common theme on holiday weekends.
Do not wait until the day of the event (or the day before) to run to the store and purchase all of your things.
And don’t get mad at me when we are all sold out of what you need. Believe it or not, other people also shop here and stock up before you.
All I could think is “It must be really awful to have today off and spend the day celebrating it with friends and family.” Because that’s how people acted.
On my drive home there were storm clouds in the sky indicating fireworks were not in our future. So we celebrated our own way with pasta, beer, and Howard the Duck. (I bet you didn’t know that we like to party.)
We passed out before we could even finish the movie and I crawled out of bed to go to work the next morning.
So after another long day I was finally able to go home and start MY two-day weekend.
Monday was just full of exhaustion. I didn’t get anything done that I had planned.
This brought me to my biggest revelation over the weekend.
I’m physically exhausted from my job. And I’m tired of it. I want to enjoy the things I love and still get paid to do them.
Do what you LOVE doing.
So I have a gofundme set up. If you would like to contribute any amount go here.
Any and all support helps! Thanks!
Do you love your job or is it the opposite? What steps did you take, or are you taking to get the job of your dreams?
